Dive Insight:
Using National Pet Month as inspiration for its upcoming sale, Amazon is offering yet another multi-day sales event to attract shoppers.
Along with the event, the company is highlighting a number of its pet-focused features, including Amazon Pet profiles, which allow shoppers to receive personalized recommendations; subscribe and save for regularly scheduled deliveries; and the company’s Pet Deals page with coupons and “Lightning Deals.”
Earlier this month, the company also announced its annual summer beauty event, which began April 20 and runs through May 10. Returning for its fourth year, the event focuses on makeup, men’s grooming, fragrance, personal care and skin care.
The two events are among a series of promotional days run by the e-commerce giant.
Its Prime Big Deal Days event returned in October and served as a kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
The company’s Prime Day, which has been running for a decade, was extended for four days for the first time over the summer. This past year introduced a “Today’s Big Deals” promotion that featured a themed daily drop of products. The company said the event drove record sales and resulted in more items sold than during any prior four-day sale. However, Amazon declined to provide specific numbers related to its record sales, and analysts attribute the growth, in part, to the longer sales period.
The Pet Day sale announcement comes as Amazon prepares to post its Q1 2026 earnings report on Wednesday.
